The gratitude day

From ancient times to the present, the Chinese nation adheres to the belief that "A drop of water should be repaid by a spring". All love in the heart leads to the same destination. To cultivate children's gratitude, the English group of IID in Xinhua Academy launched a cross-cultural gratitude activity. The theme was to create an atmosphere of love and appreciation and to combine it with education on this special day.

The workshops were divided into six different activities separated into different classrooms. The children actively participated in the activities in each classroom, and those that performed well were praised by the teachers. With this praise, they could exchange small surprises with Director Wolly.

Room 1, hosted by teacher Steven, played a movie about gratitude, which covered the cold winter with thick warmth. Steven also set the paper cutting and hand coloring on the theme of appreciation and kindness. Although the paper was small the love was large. The children's laughter is the best transmission of gratitude.

Room 2 was a word finding game, which was teacher Jamie took charge of. At the same time, it introduced the different ways of dinner based on different culture to the children, which enriched the children's knowledge and broadened their horizons. Driven by love, the children were baptized with gratitude.

Teacher Zachary explained the rules of the world's biggest football event to the children in Room 3. Zachary brought the children an elaborate Turkey, which they attach one tail to the body of the bird while covering their eyes and using English cues from their partners to complete the whole bird. The children are grateful for their parents and teachers but with the help of their peers they could also feel the love of one another.

The music teacher Zied and art teacher Obase's Room 4 and Room 5 are full of laughter and song. Zied sung with the children and they danced together, passing the enthusiasm of every child. Mr. Obase took the children to appreciate the artwork and prepared balloons and candies for them.

Room6 was led by teacher Matthew to challenge the children to find a very difficult word game. The children actively used their brains and worked closely together, and finally won the praise of Teacher Matthew! Every child, knows how to be grateful and learns to cherish one another and their lives.

Every child who got good comments were able to to give their noted to Director Wolly and happily receive a reward. The children who got the final reward were so happy!

Time flied and the activity came to an end. The activity was carried out with the eyes of the world while also practicing the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. It is important to let the children always have a heart of gratitude because that will enhance their sense of responsibility to be kind and caring.
